Overview

Shift patterns are 8am-1pm & 1pm-6pm Mon-Fri & 10am-6pm weekends. This is an occasional hours contract to cover staff absence so no guaranteed weekly hours. There is a vacancy for a Catering Assistant to join our great team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Cook within our busy care home, assist in the delivery of food and beverages, and provide menus that are healthy, nutritionally balanced, meeting any specific dietary requirements.
  • Support customers at mealtimes, ensuring that exceptional levels of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
  • Help during a range of events throughout the year as part of this role.

Qualifications

  • Food preparation experience and an understanding of safe and correct food hygiene/handling procedures.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to work towards.
  • Flexibility to work in accordance with rostered hours.

Enhancements and Benefits

  • A night enhancement of ÂŁ1.50 per hour applies from 8pm to 7am Monday – Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins).
  • A weekend day enhancement of ÂŁ2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.

Notes

  • We are currently under consultation proposing a change to the enhancement rates paid. If the proposal is accepted, from 1 December 2025 new enhancement rates of ÂŁ1.00 per hour will apply to night working (8pm-7am) and weekend working (8pm Friday – 7am Monday). This does not apply to Sleep-ins.
