Overview

As a Team Leader with Leonard Cheshire you will become part of a fantastic team. You will provide effective supervision of a team of Support Workers, lead with passion and enthusiasm promoting positive outcomes for disabled people with a flexible and proactive approach. You will ensure our customers receive the very best care, personal support and assistance with daily life tasks. Supporting our Person Centred approach, you will ensure maximum independence for our customers and helping them to achieve individual aspirations. This is a challenging yet exciting opportunity, offering you the chance to grow and develop as a member of the Leonard Cheshire team, further enhancing your already successful career as a care professional.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Support Workers and provide effective leadership.
  • Promote positive outcomes for disabled people through a flexible and proactive approach.
  • Ensure customers receive high-quality care, personal support and assistance with daily life tasks.
  • Support Person Centred approaches to maximise independence and help customers achieve individual aspirations.
  • Grow and develop as a care professional within the Leonard Cheshire team.
  • Work flexibly and creatively with customers and their families.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Health and Social Care (NVQ/SVQ) or Level 4 NVQ/SVQ, or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience supervising a team.
  • Experience working in a care setting.
  • Flexibility to work within rostered hours and participate in an on-call rota where required.

Benefits and Additional Information

  • Night enhancement of £1.50 per hour from 8pm to 7am, Monday–Sunday (not applicable to sleep-ins).
  • Weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.

  • There is ongoing consultation proposing a change to enhancement rates. If accepted, from 1 December 2025 new enhancements of £1.00 per hour will apply to night and weekend work (8pm Friday – 7am Monday) and will not apply to sleep-ins.
