Lead Occupancy Growth That Changes Lives

At Leonard Cheshire, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live, learn and work as independently as they choose.

We're looking for an experienced Referrals Manager to drive occupancy across our social care services while ensuring every referral is managed with professionalism, compassion and a focus on achieving the best outcomes for the people we support.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll help shape referral strategy, strengthen partnerships with commissioners and health and social care professionals, and use data-driven insights to maximise occupancy and support sustainable service growth across the UK.

What You'll Do

As Referrals Manager, you'll lead the continuous improvement of our referrals and admissions function, ensuring enquiries are converted into successful placements through efficient processes, strong stakeholder relationships and commercial insight.

You'll:

  • Develop and deliver a national referrals strategy that supports occupancy growth across Leonard Cheshire services.
  • Lead the referrals and admissions process, ensuring enquiries and placements are managed efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
  • Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, NHS partners, commissioners and other referral sources.
  • Analyse occupancy, admissions and referral performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve conversion rates.
  • Produce reports, forecasts and market intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with Operations, Commercial, Quality and Marketing teams to maximise occupancy and identify growth opportunities.
  • Build relationships and develop an in-depth understanding of our care provision.

About You

You'll bring significant experience within social care, healthcare or a related care environment, alongside a strong commercial understanding of occupancy and service growth. Knowledge of health and social care commissioning, funding pathways, self-funding arrangements and direct payments is advantageous.

You'll also have:

  • Experience leading referrals, placements, occupancy, commissioning or business development functions.
  • Strong relationships with Local Authorities, NHS organisations, commissioners or other referral partners.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with experience interpreting complex data and producing meaningful management information.
  • Experience using CRM, occupancy management or database systems within a multi-site organisation.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strategic mindset, combined with a proactive, results-focused approach.
  • Flexible to undertake ad hoc travel to Services

Why Join Leonard Cheshire?

This is an opportunity to influence how people access life-changing care and support while helping shape the future growth of one of the UK's leading disability charities. You'll join a collaborative organisation that values innovation, compassion and continuous improvement, where your expertise will directly contribute to delivering outstanding customer outcomes and sustainable organisational growth.
