Here at Leonard Brothers Veterinary Centre, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at the Nantwich and Wistaston branches! We are looking for an experienced Vet who has an interest in surgery, who is happy doing routines as well taking on more complicated procedures and supporting younger members of staff. We would also be keen for someone with an ophthalmology bias, as we have recently lost our Ophtho cert holder and have a slit lamp, tonometer and operating microscope feeling unloved.
We offer an excellent balance between consults and ops, with every vet having the opportunity to do both consults and surgeries in every shift worked. We offer 15-minute consults and insert catch-up slots in between to allow vets to catch-up if a consult runs over, to write notes, make phone calls, or to discuss cases with other vets. Fix or flex - work life balance that works for you. We are happy to offer flexible working options working between 26-36 hours per week. Out-of-hours shifts are limited in the evenings between 6:30 pm - 9 pm and at weekends 8 am - 5 pm, and an equal share of Saturday mornings 8.30 to 12.30. The out of hours is shared equally between vets, currently between 12. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work life balance. We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. Whether you need to do the school pick up, need reduced hours during school holidays or would simply like a more flexible rota pattern we can fix or flex our patterns to suit you.
“I’ve been working at Leonard Brother’s for 6 years after 18 months in mixed practice. Working here was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The team has always been very welcoming and friendly, management are approachable and supportive. I’m able to explore my interests, broaden my skillset and learn new things every day. The team has a diverse range of interests and skills, so there is always someone to ask for opinions on trickier cases and help during surgery. Our diary has a good mix of consulting and procedure time allowing me to work up my own cases and care for my patients in the way I would want for my own pet.” - Alex, Veterinary Surgeon
