Leo Recruits is currently seeking a reliable and proactive Yard Shunter to support a busy logistics operation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, efficient movement, positioning, and coordination of transport vehicles, containers, and trailers in line with operational schedules and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Container & Trailer Movements: Coordinate the safe and efficient movement of containers and trailers to and from loading bays, ensuring alignment with daily loading and unloading schedules to maintain smooth yard operations.
- Contractor Supervision: Oversee transport contractors while on site, managing entry and exit procedures for both drivers and pedestrians, and ensuring full compliance with site safety rules and company policies.
- Equipment Inspections: Conduct daily checks on tug units and on-site trailers, identifying any defects or maintenance issues and reporting them promptly to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to maintain clear communication, support coordinated workflows, and assist in resolving operational challenges effectively.
- Operational Compliance & Issue Reporting: Proactively identify and address issues that may impact the daily load schedule, escalating concerns in a timely manner to minimise disruption and maintain compliance.
Working Environment
- Rotational shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off
- Day shifts only: 06:00 β 18:00
- Fast-paced logistics yard environment

- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
