Leo Group is one of the UK’s leading specialists in animal by-products and renewable energy. We play a critical role in the food and agricultural industries collecting and processing material – which is converted into meals and oils for use in pet food, cosmetics, chemicals, and renewable fuel. As we continue to grow and develop our operations, we are looking for a Health & Safety Assistant who will work closely with internal and external contacts to co‑ordinate and control the training needs throughout the site. This is a great opportunity for individuals that are hardworking and keen to be part of an existing business that continues to grow.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare Safety Operation Procedure (SOP)
- Lead internal and external SOP trainings of all employees, determining training needs, and liaising with management team to ensure completion
- Ensure all employees are trained on the relevant risks and SSOW
- Work closely with the site to establish procedures, standards, and systems
- Provide Health & Safety data and statistics
- Support in any construction Health and Safety regulations
- Carry out safety inductions for contractors/visitors and new starters
- Data entry into the system and placing evidence of training in employee’s file
- Prepare PPE for new starters/visitors
- Support HSEQ team
- Any additional activities as required by the management team
Person Specification
- Experience in a similar role
- Good level of English language; spoken & written
- Computer literate in Microsoft office suite
- Able to lead and motivate others
- Problem solving
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Flexibility around working hours
- Team player
Job Types: Full‑time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, overtime when required, flexibility around working hours
Education: GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
