We are looking for a skilled fabricator welder to join Halifax Sheet Metal at HX1 4PN. This position will require travel and working away at our other sites in the UK.
Job Purpose Summary: As a fabricator you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, fabrication and welding work.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- MIG, TIG welding
- Fabrication
- Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions
- Taking part in product development meetings
- Verifying dimensions and product specifications
- Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present
- Marking cutting lines on materials
- Ensuring that all the parts are properly fitted and aligned
- Ensuring that all quality standards are met
- Maintaining the production schedule and managing key stakeholders’ expectations
- Testing products for functionality
- Troubleshooting and stress testing the products
- Reporting and detailing product malfunctions
Health & Safety:
- Work to the highest standard of Health & Safety at all times, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Show health & safety awareness in your working environment; speak to a colleague or your manager to highlight any issues
- Follow appropriate RAMS for machinery & other workshop activities
- Wear correct PPE at all times
- Report accidents and near misses to the management
- Report any required machine/equipment repairs to management and engineering team
- Ensure you are working in a tidy organised manner at all times
