We are looking for a skilled fabricator welder to join Halifax Sheet Metal at HX1 4PN. This position will require travel and working away at our other sites in the UK.

Job Purpose Summary: As a fabricator you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, fabrication and welding work.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • MIG, TIG welding
  • Fabrication
  • Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions
  • Taking part in product development meetings
  • Verifying dimensions and product specifications
  • Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present
  • Marking cutting lines on materials
  • Ensuring that all the parts are properly fitted and aligned
  • Ensuring that all quality standards are met
  • Maintaining the production schedule and managing key stakeholders’ expectations
  • Testing products for functionality
  • Troubleshooting and stress testing the products
  • Reporting and detailing product malfunctions

Health & Safety:

  • Work to the highest standard of Health & Safety at all times, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
  • Show health & safety awareness in your working environment; speak to a colleague or your manager to highlight any issues
  • Follow appropriate RAMS for machinery & other workshop activities
  • Wear correct PPE at all times
  • Report accidents and near misses to the management
  • Report any required machine/equipment repairs to management and engineering team
  • Ensure you are working in a tidy organised manner at all times
