The Buyer is responsible for supporting procurement and materials planning activities across both our UK and US supply centers to ensure the timely, cost-effective supply of goods and services. This role focuses on creating purchase orders, monitoring delivery schedules, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and collaborating with suppliers to resolve basic quality, pricing, or delivery issues. The Tactical Buyer works closely with senior buyers, production, and supply chain teams to maintain smooth operations while learning and applying best practices in procurement and planning.
Key responsibilities
- Raise and track purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm order details, lead times, and delivery schedule
- Maintain accurate product information and pricing within internal system
- Maintain lead times with the ERP system
- Creating parts in the ERP system
- Collaborate with senior planners and department heads to align plans with business objectives
- Monitor and report on progress, identifying risks and recommending solutions
- Assist in forecasting resources and timelines
- Prepare planning documents, presentations, and reports for stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned from time to time
Relevant Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Good analytical and numerical ability
