Position Summary
This role will be responsible for developing architecture and design while informing requirements, verification, and validation. This position will follow architectural design principles to develop system architectures and lead the integration of engineering disciplines to implement designs that result in successfully launching life‑saving oncology systems in a competitive market environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop system architectures for products that efficiently support multi‑disciplinary use cases.
- Lead cross‑disciplinary engineering teams to develop system solutions that balance complexity across each discipline while maximizing stakeholder value.
- Use system modeling and artificial intelligence tools to create and document architecture and design solutions.
- Support the development of use cases, requirements, and verification & validation protocols.
- Review design documents, interface definitions, and safety‑critical control logic for consistency with overall system requirements.
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration of embedded subsystems within the broader system architecture.
- Troubleshoot system issues during the development lifecycle and for systems deployed in the field.
- Formulate project execution strategies with project and institutional management for achieving the goals of development efforts in an efficient and effective manner.
- Manage one or more subsystems.
- Mentor design engineers to help develop systems‑level understanding across the engineering organization.
Relevant Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in engineering or science field.
- At least 10 years of engineering experience, with recent emphasis in systems engineering preferred.
- Robotic experience beneficial.
- Skilled at using artificial intelligence tools to accelerate design velocity.
- Model Based Systems Engineering experience is desirable.
- Experience leading design teams using well‑constructed architectural design principles.
- A demonstrable track record of proactive change management and someone who is comfortable in a continually developing environment.
- Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
