This role will be responsible for developing architecture and design while informing requirements, verification, and validation. This position will apply architectural design principles to develop system architectures and lead the integration of engineering disciplines to implement designs that enable the successful launch of life-saving oncology systems in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities

Key Product Development Responsibilities
- Co-led with Product Management the baseline interoperability objectives for projects.
- Oversee the development of user needs and lower-level decompositions of requirements that are derived from project interoperability objectives, in coordination with the Requirements Management team.
- Lead multi-disciplinary product development teams to implement the project’s interoperability requirements.
- Oversee the development of verification and validation test cases for interoperability requirements, in coordination with the Verification and Validation team.
- Document system capabilities in product/project deliverables.
- Create and maintain the product ICD, including tailored versions when needed.
- Ensure all imaging software and devices comply with DICOM standards, IHE integration profiles, and industry interoperability requirements.
- Own the creation and maintenance of the DICOM Conformance Statement.
- Establish best practices, governance processes, and technical documentation to ensure consistent and compliant DICOM behavior across product lines.
- Drive interoperability testing, troubleshooting, and certification efforts, including participation in IHE Connectathons or similar integration validation activities.
- Provide subject-matter expertise on DICOM standards, IHE profiles, and medical imaging interoperability to internal teams and external collaboration partners.
- Mentor engineers within the team to build broader team knowledge and capabilities.
Key Customer-Oriented Responsibilities
- Co-led with Client Delivery Project Management the collection of specific integrations and configurations needed by a prospective customer.
- For collected integration needs, determine the ability of the baseline product to support the customer’s application. In situations where there is a lack of alignment, work with Product Management to disposition the needs.
- For collected configuration needs, ensure the delivered product is configured to match the agreed upon specification.
- Collaborate with Engineering, clinical customers, and collaboration partners to implement and validate customer DICOM/IHE workflows.
- Conduct joint debugging sessions using DICOM logs, network traces, and validation tools (e.g., DVTk, Offis DCMTK) to resolve interoperability issues.
- Work with the customer’s IT team and vendors to prepare for product installation, proactively identifying potential issues.
Relevant Knowledge and Skill requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field.
- At least 12 years of engineering experience, with experience in interoperability of medical and imaging systems.
- Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Customer-facing experience in collecting tailored needs.
- Extensive hands-on experience with DICOM standards and IHE integration profiles, including implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of interoperability workflows.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Clear and concise writing and communication skills.
