The Test Technician is responsible for the assembly and testing of subassemblies and assemblies required to manufacture a Leo Linac System. The position requires working with all departments within Leo Cancer Care, including but not limited to Product Development, Operations, Sales, Quality, and Customer Support.
Key responsibilities:
- Inspection, assembly, and unit testing of Linear Accelerators and associated sub-assemblies and products.
- Raise Engineering Change Requests to drive continuous improvement across all product ranges.
- Experience with health and safety (HSE), FDA, and ISO 9001 quality system requirements.
- Ensure manufacturing best practices and good housekeeping are maintained.
- Complete build and test records to maintain an accurate Device History Record (DHR).
- Ensure adequate control and disposition of non-conforming material and provide the necessary documentation.
- Develop Manufacturing Work Instructions.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, taking responsibility for tools, equipment, shelter, and any product being tested.
- Work as part of a departmental quality team, contributing to maintaining and improving production methods and processes.
- Ensure all tooling and equipment are maintained and calibrated as required.
- Represent the department in meetings.
- Assist other functions within the business, such as Installation, service, and provide training as directed by the Manufacturing Manager.
- Ensure that all products that pass through comply with the manufacturing quality plan.
- Contribute towards the maintenance and improvement of the Production Test Schedule/s (PTS).
- Carry out contamination examinations if trained and certified as a Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) as instructed by the Radiation Protection Officer (RPO).
Relevant Knowledge and Skill requirements:
- Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline (Electronics, Mechatronics, Software, etc.) preferred, technical/vocational training, military experience with electronics or relevant domain experience.
- Served an apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, with a minimum of 4 yearsβ experience in a suitable manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in maintaining/troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems.
- Experience with medical devices such as Linear accelerators, MRI, CT, or similar modalities is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity and experience using electronic test tools and equipment such as DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Soldering Irons, and other electronic test equipment.
- Displays energy, drive, agility, and resilience in achieving work-related goals under difficult circumstances.
- Trained and certified as a Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) is advantageous but not necessary, as training can be provided.
