Expectations of a Business Director:

  • Manages a portfolio of brands.
  • Along with Creative Directors and Strategic Planner, sets creative and strategic tone for client account.
  • Partners with Senior Planners to develop and implement highly interactive strategic plans for brand.
  • Problem solves on high level account and production issues and knows when to involve Managing Director.
  • Builds and maintains top level client relationships; acts as key contact to clients; attends all high profile campaign presentations, shoots and edits.
  • Oversees annual fee and contract negotiations and other broad budget issues; works closely with Finance on contract and fee proposals; recommends staffing adjustments as necessary based on increase or decrease in annual fee.
  • Leads weekly/monthly client revenue tracking and analyses revenue impact on account and agency profitability.
  • Manages and facilitates new business pitches when requested by Managing Director.
  • Committed to constantly improving our work, and how we work.
  • Always on the lookout for opportunities to cross-sell within the Groupe.
  • Maintains a sense of discretion and professionalism, representing the Groupe.

  • Provide leadership and professional development to department staff.

Special requirements:

  • Required 10+ years account/digital/production experience in a creative advertising agency.
  • Deep understanding of digital production steps and processes – responsible for high level digital communication to clients.
  • Capable of writing a thoughtful interactive business strategy presentation dissecting a client’s platform, mobile and social landscape, highlighting current trends in digital, media, technology and advertising that may be utilized to grow their business.
  • Lives the interactive ecosystem (truly born of Digital), understands how social, mobile, experiential, search, etc. all co-exist.
  • Able to effectively interpret and lead regarding measurement reporting, whether regarding standard or rich media advertising or social.
  • Rallies behind interactive briefs and pushes clients and creatives to explore new interactive projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong financial understanding of budgeting, estimating and agency profitability.
  • A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Highly organized with a keen sense of attention to detail.
  • Exceptional initiative and follow through skills.
