The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The Plant Improvement Specialist will identify, develop and implement plant improvement activities and product developments, and provide longer term technical support for the operational needs of the manufacturing facility. You will work with shift teams, manufacturing specialists and operational managers to develop process- or product-improvement projects; and develop written specifications for those projects, using contract mechanical/electrical engineering input as required You will provide technical support and drive continuous improvement within the fibreline, polymer and offsites areas, including during shutdowns/R&M’s to implement medium to long term projects You will lead and support the implementation and commissioning of new projects, including liaising with equipment suppliers & contractors to obtain pricing for projects, carrying out evaluation trials, and supervising contractors on installation work You will coordinate with the technical customer service and production departments to identify and develop product development activities, and provide support for those activities, including writing SWPs, risk assessments, permits, COSHH assessments, control system FDSs, instructions etc You will be involved in the design and specification of proposals for inclusion on the Capital and Revenue budgets You will work with the shift teams, R&D and outside agencies to promote operational improvements, quality improvements, complaint investigation, and plant de-bottlenecking to meet agreed targets You have previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment You have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively whether alone or as part of a team Ideally, you hold a Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree; You are computer literate, with proven project management experience
