Lentells Ltd is a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice with a reputation for delivering exceptional client service across the South-west. We're now looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team and take ownership of a diverse client portfolio. The position is full time, 37.5 hours per week.
About the Role
As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in managing and preparing accounts and tax returns for your own portfolio of clients. You'll be the trusted point of contact for those clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service while supporting the wider team and directors.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing a portfolio of clients: acting as their primary point of contact and building strong professional relationships
- Preparing accounts, tax and VAT returns: Handling queries with accuracy and confidence
- Liaising with directors: Seeking guidance on complex matters before taking action
- Drafting client correspondence: Preparing letters and documentation for director approval
- Billing responsibilities: Raising fees promptly and professionally
- Supporting directors: Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required
- Mentoring junior staff: Providing coaching, training and day-to-day support
- Reviewing accounts prepared by others: With director support as part of your development
- Liaising with external stakeholders: Helping resolve straightforward issues as your confidence grows
- Undertaking additional duties: supporting the smooth running of the department
What We are Looking For
- Experienced in accountancy practice (ideally ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified)
- Organised, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools
