Lenovo’s Solutions and Services Group (SSG) is seeking a Data Center System Administrator to join its Professional Services team on a permanent contract. Your role will be to support enterprise and HPC customers through a combination of on‑site and remote delivery, with regular interaction in customer data center environments. The position has an international scope and requires frequent travel to customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver on‑site and remote operational support for data center and HPC environments
  • Monitor and maintain data center physical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and connectivity
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on liquid and air‑based cooling systems
  • Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, firmware, and cluster‑level issues
  • Respond to system alerts and incidents to minimize downtime and service impact
  • Act as the customer’s Single Point of Contact for operational issues and progress reporting
  • Execute system upgrades, patches, and firmware rollouts in line with service levels
  • Produce operational documentation and contribute to regular customer service reviews

Position Requirements

  • Completed technical education in IT, engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data center infrastructure, system administration, or industrial cooling
  • Hands‑on experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., SUSE, RHEL, CentOS)
  • Practical knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Ability to install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, software, and firmware
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work in data center environments
  • Strong customer communication skills and confidence in technical decision‑making
  • Fluent English required; additional languages are considered an advantage
