We are currently recruiting for experienced Field Service Engineers to provide hands-on hardware support across North and North West London.
This is a mobile, customer-facing role working on behalf of a major technology services provider, supporting Lenovo products across customer sites.
You will be responsible for visiting customer locations to complete hardware repairs on Lenovo laptops, desktops and other IT equipment. The role is largely independent, so we're looking for engineers who are comfortable managing their own workload, travelling between sites and providing a professional customer experience.
Lenovo's support team will generally complete the initial diagnostics before a repair is dispatched to you. You'll receive the fault details, repair action plan and required replacement parts, allowing you to focus on completing the repair, testing the equipment and closing the job.
What You'll Be Doing
- Travelling to customer sites across your assigned region to complete hardware repairs.
- Collecting replacement parts from local depots / PUDO locations where required.
- Reviewing fault information and repair action plans.
- Carrying out hands-on hardware repairs and component replacements.
- Testing equipment following repairs.
- Completing job documentation and updating the relevant dispatch / ticketing system.
- Returning faulty components to the local depot / PUDO.
- Communicating with the dispatch team regarding appointments and any issues encountered on-site.
- Liaising professionally with customers and site contacts.
- Managing your own daily schedule, travel and workload.
- Providing a professional and reliable customer service throughout each visit.
The Equipment
You will primarily be working on Lenovo laptops and desktops, including:
- ThinkPad
- Yoga
- Chromebook
- Lenovo Plus Gen 10
- ThinkCentre
- IdeaCentre
- Lenovo V Series
Previous experience replacing components such as screens, motherboards, SSDs, RAM, batteries, keyboards, cooling fans and hinges would be highly relevant.
Experience carrying out complete laptop rebuilds would also be beneficial.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for engineers with genuine hands-on IT hardware repair experience, ideally gained within a:
- Field Service environment
- Mobile Engineering role
- Break/Fix position
- Hardware Support role
- Desktop / Laptop Repair environment
You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, travelling extensively throughout your assigned region and dealing directly with customers.
A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required.
