We’re delighted to be assisting a leading technology company in Northern Ireland in their search for an ambitious Associate General Counsel to join their high-performance In House legal team.

Your New Role

As the Associate General Counsel, you'll join an expanding legal team, working across multiple disciplines to protect business interests.

The role reports to the General Counsel and does not have any direct reports.

This is a high-impact role within a fast-paced, innovative technology business that serves a world-renowned client base.

As a member of the legal team, you will play a critical role in shaping and protecting the commercial and other interests of the company.

You will lead on complex, high-value technology transactions and provide strategic legal guidance on a wide range of other matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex, high-value software licensing, non-standard technology agreements, and professional services agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders across sales, product, engineering, and operations.
  • Advise on non-commercial legal matters, including IP, data privacy, corporate and regulatory compliance.
  • Support international expansion and the standardisation of legal documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business, balancing legal risk with commercial outcomes.
  • Key duties include;
  • Draft and negotiate complex tech contracts with precision and in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Guide our sales team through the deal process, offering legal insights and contract management advice.
  • Provide general legal support to all areas of the business.
  • Understand software products, software implementation, managed services and how they fit with privacy, data security, and cloud services.
  • Standardize documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Solve problems and present smart, business-friendly solutions.
  • What You Need To Succeed
  • As the Associate General Counsel you will;
  • Be a UK or Ireland qualified solicitor/lawyer with 5+ years' PQE in top-tier private practice and/or in-house roles.
  • Have strong in-house legal experience within the technology sector.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of software licensing, Saa S, cloud services, OEM, teaming, and professional services and partnership agreements.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient at utilizing AI tools for a wide range of legal tasks, including document creation, redlining, legal research, providing guidance on executed contracts, and working within a CLM tool.
  • Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex technology contracts under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Substantial experience in commercial, intellectual property, data privacy, competition, and regulatory law.
  • Familiarity with Fintech and other regulated industries.
  • Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions and legal systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience managing cross-functional expectations at senior levels you'll handle the drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex technology contracts and supporting diverse areas like disputes, IP, privacy, and more.
