We are working with a top global law firm that is recruiting for a number of Legal Analysts to join their Disputes team in Belfast.

In your new role as a Legal Analyst, you will work at the intersection of disputes law, data, and technology. The role will be based in the Belfast office; however, you will regularly be working as part of a global Digital Legal Delivery team. Legal Analysts in this team are not only delivering high-quality legal work but are actively contributing to the evolution of how disputes are delivered through digital, data-led and AI-enabled approaches. Opportunities can arise from time to time for Legal Analysts to be selected to go on business trips and secondments, usually to the London office.

As part of the Belfast Digital Legal Delivery Disputes team, you will be invited to Learning and Development sessions which focus on both legal training and soft skills such as drafting and presentation skills. The network of Committees in Belfast includes Social, Charity, Arts and Business, Diversity (including LGBT), Women in Business, and sports. All new team members are welcome to join our committees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting work, under the supervision of senior Disputes lawyers, on large-scale contentious matters. This may include but is not limited to documentary analysis and reporting on large-scale contentious matters or supporting the efficient management of large-scale claims and investigations through consistent, high-quality analysis, with performance measured against agreed productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of law to the Digital Legal Delivery Disputes practice.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial disciplines on matters (e.g. daily time-recording).
What You Need To Succeed
  • Law graduate (2:1 or above) or a post-graduate qualification in law with a minimum of 3 A levels (ideally B grades and above).
  • Ability to review, analyse and organise documentary and factual evidence.
  • Aptitude for learning (and becoming proficient in) the use of software and IT Applications.
  • An innovative mindset, with a strong interest in applying AI (including generative AI) and legal technology tools to improve legal service delivery.
Desirable
  • 6 months to a year’s work experience in an office-based environment.
  • Fluency in a second language with an ability to translate legal documents into English. Western European languages an advantage, but other languages (e.g. Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean or Russian) especially desirable.
