We are working with an international legal services company searching for a Contracts Associate for their Belfast office. Our client has a reputation for delivering outstanding legal services and has a legacy as a pioneer in the Alternative Legal Services Provider market with a focus on AI integrated contracting. They lead the market in Integrated Law combining the expertise of Traditional Law, the efficiency of New Law, and the close business integration of In-house legal to deliver complex legal work at scale. They work alongside corporate legal departments to solve the ever-increasing demands and complexity of transactional legal work using AI powered solutions. Your New Role

This excellent legal services company is seeking to appoint a Legal Associate-Contract Manager to work in their Belfast Office. As a Legal Associate-Contract Manager you will:

  • Be part of a team committed to the overall delivery of services and compliance with all delivery commitments to the client;
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts including content and development contracts, software development contracts, professional and consulting services contracts, staffing contracts, licensing contracts, other IP/IT contracts and general commercial contracts;
  • Adhere to delivery processes and commitments;
  • Input and manage data on the firm’s and client systems and keep them up to date;
  • Help develop contract templates, playbooks and other tools for use by the team;
  • Be part of a team committed to continually improving our service to the client and adding value.

What You Will Need to Succeed

In order to be considered for the position of Legal Associate you must meet the following Essential Criteria:

  • You must be adaptable, authentic, accountable, and values-driven.
  • You must be a team player who exhibits personal leadership and leaves things better than you found them.
  • The firm is looking for someone who always gives their best and inspires others to do the same.
  • You must have the legal knowledge and ability to take instructions from the firm’s client and serve as an escalation point on issues for more junior team members.

In addition to meeting these essential criteria, you will also:

  • Have a Law Degree and/or be Legally Qualified.
  • Be legally eligible to work in Northern Ireland.
  • Have a minimum 2 years drafting and negotiating commercial contract experience within a law firm, legal services or as part of an in-house legal team.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Have good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite – especially Microsoft Word.
  • Be a good organizational fit for the firm’s culture by exhibiting their core values of Authenticity, Accountability, Adaptability and Stewardship.
  • Be able to operate with minimal supervision, working with a recognised matter management system as part of daily routine.

The Desirable Criteria for the role are:

  • Experience of working with or for a telecommunications, financial services or professional services firm preferably in a contracting function.
  • Experience of working in-house.
