My valued client is seeking an experienced and driven Production Supervisor to take responsibility for the safe, efficient and effective operation of our production activities, including yard operations, processing plant performance and mobile plant activities. The Business is in the aggregate / Recycling industry. Please note this is not a food production environment.
Hours of work: Monday - Friday 7.00am - 4pm with flexibility to cover night shifts and other shift patterns when required to.
Salary: Circa £43,000 - 46,000 per annum
Role is depot / office based in Rotherham S60.
The successful candidate will be a visible and proactive leader who can motivate and develop and supervise a team, optimise production processes, drive continuous improvement and maintain an unwavering commitment to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ). Candidates with IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications would be at an advantage but not essential.
This is a hands‑on operational role requiring someone who is comfortable working in a busy industrial environment and who understands the demands of waste processing, recycling operations, production machinery and mobile plant. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily production and yard operations.
- Optimise processing plant performance, productivity and reliability.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of mobile plant and processing machinery.
- Train, coach and develop production staff, building a skilled and accountable team.
- Maintain an unwavering commitment to safety and drive improvements in SHEQ performance.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping, quality and environmental compliance.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement across the operation.
- Monitor production performance, minimise downtime and resolve operational issues.
- Work closely with maintenance and management to improve plant reliability and efficiency.
- Lead by example, creating a positive culture of safety, teamwork and accountability.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a production, waste processing, recycling or heavy industrial environment.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. Role will manage a team of around 15 staff.
- Essential: experience of waste processing machinery and mobile plant.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Experience of staff training and development.
- A practical, hands‑on approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
