We have supported thousands of small businesses in the UK with hundreds of millions in funding. We are a friendly and collaborative team with a fast-paced and high-performing culture. We are headquartered in London but operate a remote-first culture with team members across Nigeria, South Africa, and London.

Position Overview: We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Business Development Representative to help grow and optimise our broker-led sales channel. This role is ideal for someone with a background in SME lending who enjoys owning deals end-to-end, building strong external relationships, and improving how things are done. You’ll be part of our existing high performing team managing broker-introduced opportunities from initial engagement through to onboarding and funding. Acting as a trusted partner to brokers and customers alike, you’ll play a key role in driving sustainable growth while bringing fresh ideas to improve our sales and onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and progress broker-introduced opportunities through the full sales lifecycle, from initial qualification to onboarding and funding.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for SME finance brokers and their clients, delivering a high-quality, responsive customer experience.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with SME finance brokers to position Lenkie as their preferred lending partner.
  • Independently handle customer onboarding, working closely with our underwriting and operations teams, to ensure smooth execution and a seamless experience.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks in the broker sales and customer onboarding process, proposing and implementing practical improvements.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, reporting on deal status, broker performance, and key sales metrics for your customers.
  • Support wider commercial initiatives and ad hoc projects as the business scales.

Required skills:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a broker-facing business development or in a closing sales role in either SME lending or SME fintech companies.
  • Strong understanding of SME lending products, credit processes, and customer onboarding (e.g KYC requirements).
  • Confident managing deals independently and taking ownership from first contact through to completion, to ensure the best possible customer experience.
  • Relationship-focused, with the ability to build trust and credibility with SME finance brokers and Lenkie customers.
  • Process-driven mindset with a genuine interest in improving efficiency and ways of working.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple deals and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and working with data to manage and forecast pipeline performance.
  • Self-starter with a proactive, problem-solving approach.

What you’ll get from us:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Hybrid working from our London office.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership within a growing commercial function.
  • Opportunity to shape and improve a core acquisition channel.
  • Steep learning curve and clear career progression in a high-growth fintech.
  • Regular team and company socials.
