Through our innovative lending products and powerful cash flow management platform, we empower SMEs to succeed. We have supported hundreds of UK businesses with millions in funding. We are a high-performing, collaborative team headquartered in London with a remote-first culture. Backed by world-class investors, we recently closed a £4M equity and £45M debt Series A investment round. We are now entering a pivotal scaling phase and are looking for a sharp, execution-focused Credit Analyst to join our mission.
About the job
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our growing finance function. This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified chartered accountant who has spent time in an operational finance role and is now ready to take on greater ownership and responsibility in a fast-moving fintech environment. You will work closely with senior leadership, supporting financial reporting, controls, and day‑to‑day finance operations — with real scope to grow as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial statements, supporting the annual audit process with external auditors.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in building financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support business planning.
- Cash Flow Management: Support oversight of cash flow and working capital to ensure financial stability.
- Controls & Compliance: Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations.
- Process Improvement: Help identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the wider team to support business operations, providing clear and timely financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
Qualifications / Required Skills
- A minimum of 2 years of post‑qualification experience in an operational finance role, ideally at a high‑growth startup or fast‑paced environment.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial reporting.
- Solid analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and confidently to non‑finance colleagues.
- A proactive, ownership‑driven mindset — comfortable working in a small team where you’ll need to roll up your sleeves.
Nice to have
- Exposure to a lending or fintech business.
- Experience with financial modelling or capital markets.
How we reward performance
- Competitive salary and equity package.
- Hybrid work culture, with 3 days per week working from our Holborn office.
- Real opportunity to grow with the business and develop into a senior finance leader.
- Professional development support to enhance your skills and career growth.
- Regular team and company socials.
We’re building a diverse, inclusive and supportive team where everyone can do their best work. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, and we do not discriminate based on age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
