We are currently recruiting a Senior Health Safety, and Quality Manager who will lead on developing and maintaining the business Quality Management System, provide clear management policies and processes to support existing and aspirational accreditations and certifications, including all relevant ISO and BSI standards. Ensure Health and Safety remains a high priority for everyone in the business with appropriate training and development, owning all H&S related initiatives.

You will work closely with the EMT and be a member of the Ops Team driving compliance and awareness of all EHS and Quality workstreams, ensuring that appropriate training and communication is effectively undertaken and managed. You will manage the QMS system and ensure the Consulting Business maintains their ISO Certifications, including general upkeep and development of the QMS.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver multiple workstreams within the Consulting business to support operations and growth aligned to the approved business plan.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the wider Bovis safety standard and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Safety Management systems and build close working relationships with Consulting stakeholders.
  • Provide effective support and guidance to project teams in compliance with Bovis Safety processes and procedures.
  • Set up and manage regular SHELT meetings, lead Lessons learnt and best practice sharing relevant to the QMS.
  • Provide monthly EHS statistics on Consulting EHS performance to EMT and Ops Team.
  • Lead ISO Certification activities, liaising with the certification body and managing the review process.
  • Ensure Consulting staff are aware of all requirements for the implementation of the QMS.
  • Carry out site visits, inspections and audits, ensuring the Ops team supports these activities.
  • Assist project teams in producing, maintaining and reviewing mandatory project documentation.
  • Manage the EHS team in delivering CDM services projects.
  • Maintain Bovis Consulting's Accreditation to the Association for Project Safety (SSiP).

Experience Background:

  • Delivered diverse and complex projects as a Principal Designer across various sectors.
  • Experience in small scale and large scale projects.
  • Provided CDM training to duty holders and employees.
  • Extensive knowledge of the CDM Regulations and application of Duty Holders legal requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of Health Safety Legislation and mandatory requirements.
  • Hold a recognised H&S qualification within the Construction Industry, e.g. NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • Maintain CPD and hold professional membership of a recognised H&S professional body.

Individual Ownership:

  • Participate fully in Monthly 1-2-1 process.
  • Implement and populate agreed Goals and Development Plan.
  • Complete all Bovis mandatory relevant training.
  • Work calmly and authoritatively under pressure.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels.
  • Good team working skills.

People Management:

  • Complete People Manager Assessment 2 training.
  • Manage the Monthly 1-2-1 process.
  • Lead and manage the Goal Setting process with direct reports.
  • Support and facilitate Career Progression Discussion/Career Mapping.

Other Achievements:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • Membership of Professional body e.g. Minimum GRAD IOSH, working to Chartership.
  • Certified Member of the APS or equivalent.

Consulting Business Operations:

  • Regularly update Project Data into specified systems.
  • Update and present monthly Business Commercial Report.
  • Plan and lead on Business Development activities.
  • Participate in Knowledge Sharing with colleagues and clients.
