About Lendable

Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We are building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start:

  • One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 600 people
  • Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK
  • Profitable since 2017
  • Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs
  • Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot)

So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days. We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.

Join us if you want to:

  • Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1
  • Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo
  • Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Product Designer to join our growing Product Design team at Zable (Lendable). You’ll be joining a team of 4 talented product designers (and growing), reporting to the VP of Product & Design. You’ll own complex product areas end-to-end – from discovery and research through to polished, production-ready design, while helping shape the practice as we scale. You will work across multiple products including the Zable app (1M+ active users), Lendable Loans and Autolend. You’ll set design direction, make evidence‑based decisions, and shape product strategy alongside PMs and Engineering. You’ll also mentor other designers and help raise the bar for craft, process, and outcomes across the team.

The ideal candidate:

  • 5+ years of Product Design experience, ideally in fintech or a fast‑paced startup
  • Strong mobile app experience and as well as web experience
  • Confident leading complex discovery, translating insights into actionable product direction
  • Obsessed with customer needs, experienced in structured problem solving and measuring impact
  • Clear, concise design process spanning research, prototyping, and implementation
  • Brings strong collaboration, feedback loops and coaching skills

Bonus:

  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate workflow, creativity, and throughput
  • Ability to drive product improvements independently of frontend engineering cycles (e.g., via CMS, design tokens, no‑code tools, or creative experimentation)
  • Experience influencing cross‑functional teams
  • Analytical prowess

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Partner with PMs, Engineering, and stakeholders to define product goals and make evidence‑based decisions
  • Conduct user research to uncover needs, behaviours, and opportunities
  • Create clear, actionable prototypes, flows, and UI design
  • Drive usability testing and rapid iteration
  • Ensure consistency across our design system and contribute to its evolution
  • Work closely with developers to ship high‑quality experiences, proactively identifying opportunities to improve UX
  • Continuously refine our design process and quality standards

Bonus: expertise in UX writing

How You’ll Contribute To The Product Team's Objectives:

  • User-Centric Design: Champion intuitive, accessible experiences; embed user insights into team decision‑making
  • Interaction & Visual Design: Produce high‑quality flows and interfaces; raise craft quality across the team
  • Design System: Shape and evolve core components and patterns to drive scale and consistency
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Align teams on goals, constraints, and trade‑offs; communicate clearly and proactively
  • Testing & Iteration: Turn data and feedback into actionable product improvements
  • Continuous Innovation: Bring new tools, workflows, and AI‑driven approaches into the design practice
  • Design Leadership: Mentor designers, contribute to critique, and strengthen design culture at Zable

Our design principles:

  • Simplicity wins: If a user has to think too hard, we’ve already lost. We strip away complexity, jargon, and unnecessary steps to make managing finances effortless. Every screen should feel intuitive, focused, and frictionless.
  • Evidence over ego: We don’t design based on opinions. Everything we build is informed by data, tested, and refined based on real user behaviour.
  • Trust is our best feature: We don’t design based on opinions. Everything we build is informed by data, tested, and refined based on real user behaviour.

Interview Process:

  • CV screening
  • An introductory call with someone from the Talent Team and/or hiring manager
  • A take‑home exercise to complete in your own time
  • Task debrief with members of the design team (45 mins)
  • Final interviews, in person interviews & visit to the office (3x 30 min interviews on the same day): VP Product & Design, Final round interview with our CPO, Members of the engineering team
