Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We're building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start as one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK. So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards, and car finance. We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do as we target the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.

We’re hiring new financial crime investigators due to continued business growth. You’ll conduct important financial crime screening checks and investigations into new applicants and existing customers. You will use screening tools to match customer data against PEPs & Sanctions lists and use your initiative to determine the risks associated with the application/customer. You will review customer profile information and transactional activity to identify financial crime risks and take appropriate action on the account.

As the business grows, you may be required to take on additional tasks to support the Financial Crime Team. You’ll work in the office 3 days per week, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm, with a one-hour lunch break. You'll also work one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday), once every 4 weeks, and have two weekdays off in lieu.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Protecting our customers and society by preventing fraud and financial crime.
  • Complying with financial crime regulations and company policy.
  • Supporting new application checks and existing customer monitoring.
  • Monitoring activity and transactions on customer accounts.
  • Helping mitigate risk by escalating financial crime concerns identified during reviews.

Strong decision-making skills and excellent writing skills to document decisions are essential. Previous financial crime experience is advantageous, particularly around screening and KYC. Experience in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing solutions, including the use of automation and AI technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial crime prevention, is also beneficial. Demonstrated ability to leverage data, machine learning, and AI to develop and optimise strategies for fraud and financial crime detection and prevention is required.

The recruitment process includes:

  • A 30-minute call with a member of the Talent team.
  • An onsite interview and assessment with the Financial Crime Team Leader/Manager.
  • A video interview with the Head of Fraud and Financial Crime.

Additional benefits include:

  • Flexible working tailored to each role.
  • Opportunities and events to socialise and connect beyond the office walls.
  • Health coverage for physical and mental wellbeing, including private health cover.
  • Retirement savings plans for long-term financial wellbeing.
  • Employee referral programme with competitive bonuses.
  • Office meals and snacks, including complimentary lunches prepared by in-house chefs on in-office days.
  • Sustainable commuting options available in select locations.
