About Lendable

Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We're building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start:

  • One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 700 people
  • Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK
  • Profitable since 2017
  • Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs
  • Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot)

So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days.

We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.

Join us if you want to:

  • Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1
  • Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo
  • Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting

About the role:

The Enterprise Risk Analyst will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks across the organisation. This position supports the continuous evolution of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, ensuring that potential threats to our strategic objectives, operations, finances, and reputation are proactively managed. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Some key components of the role are as follows:

  • Support the identification of potential risks (e.g., operational, financial, strategic, compliance, technological, reputational, environmental) across all business units and functions.
  • Assist in conducting comprehensive risk assessments, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, to evaluate the likelihood and impact of identified risks.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and discussions with various departments to gather risk intelligence.
  • Leverage automation and AI to enhance efficiency and reduce risk where applicable.

This role demands a knack for collaborating with all levels of stakeholders, rapidly grasping new business domains, and forging balanced solutions that foster growth within defined risk parameters.

Your team’s objectives:

  • Embed and maintain the Risk Management Framework to establish a clear, consistent, and comprehensive approach to risk management across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with business functions with the objective to effectively manage the firm's risks.
  • Provide independent review and challenge where necessary to mitigate the chance of the firm not meeting its overall obligations.

What you’ll be doing/impact on objectives:

  • Support the successful deployment and ongoing use of a new Risk Management System.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure timely completion and review of risk assessments.
  • Develop and communicate regular KRI reports, collaborating with business SMEs to provide insightful commentary that enhances risk understanding.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure the timely completion of actions originating from the Enterprise Risk Function.
  • Assess and validate the effectiveness of established controls.
  • Provide oversight of the risk event and risk acceptance processes, delivering insightful analysis to the business.
  • Assist with the end-to-end risk event process, including reviewing, escalation, and resolution of risk events to drive continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in the financial services sector, with a strong understanding of industry best practices relating to Risk or Second Line activities.
  • Educated to degree level or holding a relevant compliance qualification.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic, sound judgment, and the ability to make well-informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comprehensive knowledge or willingness to learn about regulations and development embedding of an enterprise risk framework.

The interview process:

We’re not a corporation so we try our best to get things moving as quickly as possible. For this role we’d expect:

  • Online Cognitive Assessment (15 min)
  • Chat with a Recruiter (15 min)
  • Introduction Call with the Enterprise Risk Manager (30 min)
  • Case study interview (60 min)
  • Culture interview with the Director of Enterprise Risk (45 min in-person)
