About Lendable

Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We’re building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start:

  • One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 700 people
  • Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK
  • Profitable since 2017
  • Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs
  • Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot)

So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days.

We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.

Join us if you want to:

  • Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1
  • Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo
  • Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting

About the role

We’re entering a once-in-a-company moment: a major step-change in our D2C marketing investment, a full rebrand of the company and product under the Zable brand, and a marketing function being built out at pace under a newly-appointed CMO. This is one of the most exciting marketing builds in UK fintech right now, with the financial strength, customer base, and product depth to back it up.

We’re building out our SEO function for the first time and need a strong technical operator to make our sites the fastest, cleanest and most crawlable in UK fintech. We’re looking for a Senior Technical SEO to own technical SEO across Zable. Reporting to a Head of SEO we’re hiring in parallel, you’ll partner with engineering and product to ship the work that unlocks compounding organic growth, site architecture, performance, schema, indexation and AI search readiness.

This role goes beyond traditional technical SEO. Some of our biggest organic opportunities will come from building SEO-led product surfaces, calculators, comparison tools, interactive guides, and more ambitious full-stack products designed to capture high-volume search demand. You’ll scope, ship and continuously improve those builds, bringing the SEO lens to every launch and helping us decide where the biggest organic bets are worth a product investment, not just a content one. In order to do this you will have strong technical and AI capabilities, enabling you to take a product from plan to brief to design and from build to launch with a high level of autonomy.

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

  • 4+ years in technical SEO, with hands-on ownership of audits, fixes and shipped impact
  • Strong understanding of site architecture, internal linking, crawl budget and indexation
  • Confident with performance, Core Web Vitals, page speed, JS rendering
  • Experienced with structured data and schema (especially product, financial, FAQ)
  • Comfortable with crawlers (Screaming Frog, Sitebulb), log file analysis and rendering tools
  • Experience building product with assistance from AI tools, SEO-led product launches or programmatic content systems
  • A nose for spotting search opportunities that warrant a product build, not just a content piece
  • Demonstrable use of AI in your technical SEO workflow

Desirable:

  • Experience with Next.js, React or other JS-rendered sites
  • Experience optimising for AI Overviews and LLM-driven search
  • Experience with international or multi-domain SEO
  • Some content / on-page SEO abilities

You’re a good fit if you’re:

  • Detail-obsessed and rigorous, you don’t mistake activity for impact
  • A strong communicator, you can earn trust and shape the roadmap
  • Pragmatic about quick wins vs. long-term foundations
  • As excited about building new things as you are about optimising existing ones
  • Excited about how AI search is changing the technical SEO landscape

What you’ll be doing:

Technical Foundations:

  • Run continuous technical audits across all our sites
  • Own the technical SEO roadmap, prioritised, scoped and shipped
  • Partner with engineering and product to land the work

Performance & Crawl:

  • Drive Core Web Vitals and page speed improvements
  • Manage indexation, crawl budget and rendering across our domains
  • Implement and maintain structured data and schema

SEO Product & Programmatic:

  • Plan and lead SEO-led product launches, calculators, comparison tools, interactive guides and full-stack content products
  • Help identify high-volume, high-intent search opportunities that warrant a product build, not just a page
  • Own the SEO requirements for every launch, site architecture, schema, internal linking, indexation strategy
  • Support programmatic content and page-template strategies that scale to long-tail demand
  • Measure post-launch organic performance and feed learnings back into the product roadmap

Tooling & Reporting:

  • Own our technical SEO tooling stack, crawlers, log file tools, monitoring
  • Build dashboards and alerting on technical health
  • Run regular reporting to the Head of SEO and CMO

AI Search Readiness:

  • Lead our technical preparation for AI search (entity optimisation, structured data, content access)
  • Use AI to scale audit, monitoring and brief-writing
