About the role:

We\'re hiring new financial crime investigators due to continued business growth. You\'ll conduct important financial crime screening checks and investigations into new applicants and existing customers.

You will use screening tools to match customer data against PEPs & Sanctions lists and use your initiative to determine the risks associated with the application/customer.

You will review customer profile information and transactional activity to identify financial crime risks, and take appropriate action on the account.

You will submit internal Suspicious Activity Reports in instances where suspicious activity has been identified.

As the business grows, you may be required to take on additional tasks to support the Financial Crime Team.

You\'ll work in the office 3 days per week and work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm, with a one-hour lunch break. You will also work one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) once every 4 weeks, with two weekdays off in lieu.

  • Protect our customers and society by preventing fraud and financial crime.
  • Comply with financial crime regulations and company policy.
  • Minimize customer and applicant friction through skilled and timely decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for product and process improvement.

Impact of your role:

  • Support new application checks and existing customer monitoring.
  • Investigate potential PEPs and Sanctions matches, and assist with onboarding reviews.
  • Monitor activity and transactions on customer accounts.
  • Help mitigate risk by escalating financial crime concerns identified during reviews.

Requirements to succeed:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
  • Analytical mindset with good attention to detail.
  • Strong decision-making skills and excellent writing skills.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, applicants, and management.
  • Proficient time management skills, meeting targets and deadlines.
  • Previous financial crime experience is advantageous, especially in screening and KYC.
  • Experience with automation and AI technologies for process improvements.
  • Ability to leverage data, machine learning, and AI for fraud and financial crime detection and prevention.
