We are seeking an individual to join our clients dynamic underwriting team. Our client is one of the UKs leading finance brokerages, recognised for their expertise in secured loans and bridging finance. With a strong online presence and a commitment to exceptional customer service, they are expanding their team and looking to appoint a Bridging Underwriter.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, analysing, and underwriting bridging loan applications in line with company policies, lending criteria, and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in managing risk while maintaining high levels of service and turnaround times.

The Basics:
- Bridging Underwriter
- Office based
- Starting salary of £25,000
- Mon - Fri 9:00-5:00 or 10:00am - 6:00pm on a rota
The Responsibilities:
- You will support the sales team by underwriting bridging loan enquiries, following up on Decisions in Principle (DIPs), and managing the issuance of required documents.
- You will be instructing solicitors and handle third-party requests, while assisting the team in progressing cases efficiently through to swift completion.
- Reviewing documents received from clients, submit them to lenders for bridging loan completion, and accurately process and record completed cases.
- Throughout your first year, you will gain comprehensive knowledge of the entire bridging process, with plenty of opportunity for personal development and progression within the team.
- You will work closely with our carefully selected panel of lenders, building strong relationships that are as important as the collaboration and support you'll receive from your team of experienced packagers.
- Full training will be provided both internally and externally, ensuring you are fully supported throughout your development journey.
The Skills & Requirements:
- A background in bridging, property finance, or specialist lending underwriting.
- An understanding of bridging finance, property valuation, credit assessment, and risk analysis.
- Familiarity with both regulated and unregulated bridging loans.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident decision-maker with sound commercial judgment.
- Ability to build effective relationships with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and colleagues.
- Proficient in using underwriting and CRM systems.
