We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established and growing family-run business based in Hemel Hempstead. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual with experience in electrical estimating and project management within the construction or electrical industry. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing small electrical projects from quotation through to completion.
The Basics:
- Salary negotiable depending on experience
- Full-time permanent position
- Office-based role in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Additional day off for your birthday

The Responsibilities:
- Produce electrical quotations for small projects
- Obtain costs and quotations from subcontractors and specialist material suppliers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Follow up submitted quotations and manage the sales process
- Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Produce Construction Phase Plans
- Attend pre-start meetings, both online and occasionally on-site
- Procure materials and coordinate project logistics
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Manage projects through to successful completion and handover
- Work on electrical changeover projects, typically lasting around two weeks in duration
The Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience within an Electrical Estimator, Small Works Manager, Project Co-ordinator, or similar role
- Previous experience within the electrical, construction, or building services industry
- Knowledge of estimating software and project management systems
- Experience using simPRO or similar CRM/estimating software would be highly advantageous
- Experience producing RAMS and Construction Phase Plans
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
