We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Diagnostic & Repair Technician to join a well-established and reputable business in the Watford area. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. Using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical expertise, you will identify and rectify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults, ensuring all vehicles are safe, reliable, and operating to the highest standards. The Basics

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Use computerized diagnostic equipment to test and troubleshoot engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension parts, batteries, alternators, and electrical wiring.
- Carry out routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and scheduled maintenance.
- Conduct road tests before and after repairs to verify that issues have been resolved.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
- Explain vehicle problems and repair recommendations clearly to customers or service advisors.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain diagnostic tools, workshop equipment, and a clean, organized work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong background as an automotive mechanic or diagnostic technician.
- Strong knowledge of petrol, diesel, hybrid, and modern vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in using vehicle diagnostic scanners and testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
