Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) subcontractor based in North Tyneside who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support continued growth. This family-run business, operating successfully for over 20 years, has built an excellent reputation across the North East. They deliver services including pipefitting, AC & ventilation, renewables, and full MEP projects, working closely with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors. The culture is friendly, supportive, and genuinely people-focused.
The Role
Working closely with Project Managers, you’ll provide commercial support across multiple projects, with a strong focus on cost control and day-to-day budget management. Project values typically range from £300k to £4m. This opportunity would suit an experienced QS or ambitious AQS ready to step up to QS level and take ownership of their own projects. The business promotes from within and offers clear, organic career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost control and budget management across multiple projects
- Preparation and management of CVRs
- Detailed commercial analysis and reporting to company directors
- Close collaboration with Project Managers and site teams
- Regular site visits across the North East
- End-to-end commercial management of projects
About You
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working for a main contractor or subcontractor with strong cost control skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills
- Confident communicator
- Full UK driving licence
