SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR - HOUSEBUILDING - NORTH EAST An exciting opportunity to join a growing regional business, backed by one of the UK's leading national housebuilding PLCs. I'm proud to be exclusively partnering with a well-established national housebuilder with a strong presence across the North East. The business is entering an exciting period of substantial growth, with ambitious plans to double its regional turnover over the next five years. But what really stands out to me about this opportunity isn't just the growth. It's the people, the culture and the genuine opportunities for career progression. The commercial team is well-established, with many having progressed organically through the business. In fact, the Commercial Director started his career as an apprentice and has worked his way up through the ranks. If that doesn't demonstrate a business that invests in its people, I don't know what does! THE OPPORTUNITY We're looking for an ambitious, commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for a large, multiphase residential development in Teesside. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of a project, drive commercial performance and make a genuine impact on profitability. The role will be predominantly office-based, with weekly site visits to monitor progress and maintain commercial control. Key responsibilities include: 🔹 Weekly processing of labour-only CIS subcontractors, including bricklayers and joiners. 🔹 Monthly processing of labour-only groundworks contractors. 🔹 Preparation and management of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports. 🔹 Weekly site measures, assessing completed works, materials on site and overall development progress. 🔹 Monitoring costs, identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and driving project profitability. 🔹 Mentoring and supporting junior members of the commercial team. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR ✔️ An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in volume housebuilding. ✔️ Ambitious Quantity Surveyors who are ready to take the next step into a Senior QS position will also be considered. If you've got the commercial ability, drive and confidence to step up, you'll have the support of an experienced leadership team behind you. ✔️ COINS experience is essential. ✔️ Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs, reporting and subcontractor accounts. ✔️ A proactive, driven individual who takes ownership and wants to make a difference. ✔️ Someone who enjoys being part of a team and supporting the development of others. WHAT'S ON OFFER? Alongside an excellent remuneration package, including an attractive bonus scheme, enhanced pension contributions and generous holiday entitlement, you'll be joining a business that genuinely values its people. There's flexibility around working hours, a supportive and established team, and real opportunities to progress as the region continues to grow. MY THOUGHTS... Having met with the Commercial Director, what really sold this opportunity to me was his approach to leadership. He's someone who has built his career within the business, understands the challenges his team faces and genuinely wants to see people succeed. For me, a good leader and a positive working environment are worth their weight in gold! If you're an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, or a Quantity Surveyor ready to take that next step, and you're looking for a business that's growing, investing in its people and offering genuine long-term opportunities, I'd love to have a confidential conversation with you.
