The Role
You will be the engine behind LemFi’s payments and treasury operations, ensuring that money moves efficiently, accurately, and on time across multiple corridors. Your focus will be on managing payments, monitoring cash flows, reconciling accounts, and maintaining real‑time financial visibility.
You won’t just process transactions—you will analyze flows, identify discrepancies, and optimise operations, supporting liquidity planning and helping the company scale securely across Africa and Asia.
How You’ll Contribute
- Execute Payments: Process outbound payments across multiple corridors in Africa and Asia, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Monitor Cash Flows: Track incoming payment flows and live balances, quickly identifying and resolving issues to maintain operational integrity.
- Reconcile Accounts: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of inflows, outflows, and balances across banks, partners, and payment providers.
- Investigate Discrepancies: Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation errors efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Liaise with Customer Support, Accounting, Compliance, and Engineering to ensure seamless transaction processing and reporting.
- Support Liquidity & Planning: Maintain a real‑time view of account balances and upcoming obligations to aid treasury and funding decisions.
- Improve Processes & Partner Management: Document workflows, identify process improvements, and work with external partners and vendors to resolve payment‑related queries and ensure smooth operations.
Who You Are
- Detail‑Oriented: You have a strong eye for accuracy and take pride in maintaining clean, reliable financial records.
- Organized & Proactive: You can manage multiple tasks and deadlines while anticipating issues before they arise.
- Analytical: You enjoy identifying trends, simplifying processes, and optimising operations using data.
- Collaborative: You communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners, fostering alignment and smooth execution.
- Adaptable: You thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth fintech environment and handle change with ease.
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years in payments, treasury, operations, or middle‑office roles, ideally in fintech, banking, or financial institutions.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, conditional formatting) and comfort working with financial data.
- Solid understanding of financial reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and payment operations.
- High accuracy and precision in data handling, reporting, and transaction monitoring.
- Proactive & Adaptable: Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment, with the ability to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and work remotely.
- Nice to Have: Experience with payment processors, cross‑border remittances, African/Asian banking systems or fintech treasury operations.
