LemFi (Series B) is building the go-to financial app for the Global South. Moving to a new country shouldn't mean starting from zero. Our team of 400+ spanning 20+ countries is building a financial ecosystem that helps immigrants stay connected to home, build stability, and create wealth regardless of where they are from or where they live.

What began as fast, affordable remittances is now evolving into a complete platform for multi-currency accounts, payments, credit, and long-term financial growth. With over 2 million users across the globe, we process over $1.5B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries, proving that borders shouldn't limit financial opportunity.

The Role

You will be the architect and engine of our global payroll operations. Managing a complex landscape of 19 countries and approximately 400 employees, you will balance in-house payrolls with third-party EOR partners to ensure every team member is paid accurately and on time. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will not only maintain our current systems but also lead the audit, review, and potential overhaul of our payroll infrastructure to ensure we are built for scale.

How You'll Contribute

  • Own Global Operations: Lead direct payroll for key entities including the US, Canada, Nigeria, and the UK, ensuring 100% compliance with local tax and labor regulations.
  • Master EOR Partnerships: Oversee and optimize our EOR payrolls (e.g., France, China, Philippines) in close partnership with Deel and local vendors.
  • Modernize Systems: Audit our existing payroll landscape and drive the consolidation or overhaul of systems to improve automation and efficiency.
  • Lead Compliance & Audit: Serve as the global subject matter expert for payroll taxes and statutory filings, managing year-end activities and internal/external audits.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with the People and Finance teams to integrate global benefits, compensation, and mobility initiatives into a seamless payroll flow.

Who You Are

  • A Scale Specialist: You thrive in high-growth, fast-paced environments and have a proven track record of standardising processes across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Analytical & Diligent: You possess excellent problem-solving skills and a 'security-first' mindset regarding payroll data and tax compliance.
  • A Strong Communicator: You can translate complex payroll and tax requirements into clear insights for Finance and HR partners.
  • Proactive & Improvements-Driven: You don't just manage the status quo; you actively look for ways to automate, streamline, and drive quality controls.
  • Versatile: You are comfortable balancing the 'hands-on' day-to-day processing with high-level strategic project work.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience managing multi-country payroll and benefits, specifically within the tech sector.
  • Deep technical knowledge of US and Canadian payroll regulations and tax compliance.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Deel (experience with Rippling is a significant bonus).
  • Proven experience auditing and changing payroll systems or providers at a global scale.
  • A solid understanding of payroll accounting and benefits administration across diverse jurisdictions.

The Interview Process

  • TA Screen (30 mins)
  • Meeting the manager (30 mins)
  • Technical Assessment (60 mins)
  • Stakeholder Interview (2 x 30 mins)
