Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Design Intern to support our Senior Designer on client projects and facilitate our 3D design prototyping process. In this role, you will assist in the design of merchandise, product and packaging concepts, and visual assets. You will contribute to the design process from research and ideation to execution, prototyping, and production. You will also support 3D explorations and physical creative setups, by owning the 3D printing process in the office, making this a hands‑on opportunity to bring physical designs to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Designer in the creation of product/packaging concepts and visual designs
- Assist in developing mockups and dielines for product/packaging
- Prepare and organize files for print and production
- Help create client presentations and visual proposals
- Contribute to 3D mockups, prototyping, and 3D printing experiments using the office 3D printer
- Support the 3D printer workflow by communicating print schedules to the team
- Adapt designs according to client briefs, brand guidelines, and technical constraints
- Participate in creative research, including materials, formats, finishes, and design trends by carrying out regular comp shops and summary reports
- Ensure consistency and attention to detail across all deliverables
- Assist with revisions and updates based on client and internal feedback
- Design and co‑ordinate print of ad hoc office needs, e.g. business cards, signage for trade fairs or client gifts
- Assist with office showroom merchandising, including updating sample displays and capturing content for social media
Profile
- Currently enrolled in a design degree with a placement year, or recently graduated
- Strong interest in packaging design, physical design, and creative experimentation
- Interest or basic knowledge in 3D tools, prototyping, or 3D printing is a strong plus
- Sensitivity to materials, textures, and physical environments
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Knowledge of dielines and packaging structures is a plus
- Strong sense of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
- Detail-oriented, hands‑on, and eager to learn
- Ability to follow direction and iterate quickly
