We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Work Placement and Alumni Coordinator to join our team at Leiths Education. This varied and rewarding role supports the professional journey of our Culinary Diploma students by coordinating their work placements and nurturing relationships with employers. You’ll also play a key part in developing and maintaining our alumni network, ensuring former students stay connected and supported as they progress in their careers. Purpose of the role:
- The Work Placement and Alumni Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all elements of the Leiths Culinary Diploma work placement programme alongside the Leiths List Manager.
- This will include the creation and maintenance of a database of all participating employers, implementation and tracking of the work placement assessment procedure and implementation of formal contractual agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating Leiths Culinary Diploma work placement programme in support of both students and employers alongside the Leiths List Manager.
- Coordinating placement schedules, resolving issues where needed and ensuring effective communication between school, employers and students.
- Processing employer partner agreements, including Risk assessments and Health and Safety documentation.
- Creating and maintaining a database of all participating employers.
- Implementing and tracking the work placement assessment procedures in coordination with the teaching team.
- Collecting, recording and sharing structured assessments and feedback from both students and employers.
- Supporting and maintaining relationships with participating employers.
- Researching and building relationships with new potential participating employers.
- Onboarding new participating employers.
- Providing in person support to students at the school for matters relating to Leiths List and the work placement programme.
- Working with the Leiths List Manager to review and develop the existing Leiths List with a view to growing the service and maximizing revenue generation.
Alumni Responsibilities:
- Creating, managing and regularly updating a database of Leiths alumni.
- Formalising and implementing a tracking process for Leiths alumni using the appropriate Database/CRM.
- Coordinating Alumni gatherings and events alongside the Admissions and Events Executive.
- Working with Marketing on Alumni correspondence.
General:
- Attend Leiths Open House or other promotional events as required.
- Respond in person, by telephone or email to staff, students, visitors, alumni and employers in a professional and customer focused manner.
- Provide a courteous and knowledgeable point of contact for people both within and outside Leiths.
- Comply with all relevant School policies and procedures including Health and Safety and Child Protection.
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills (both in person and virtual).
- Experience using a CRM (Monday.com CRM would be preferable).
- Experience managing and maintaining a large database.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word in particular).
- Experience using Teams and O365.
- Experience working in an educational organisation.
- Previous experience with Alumni engagement.
- Previous experience in work placement programmes.
To deliver services effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed, and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to here. This position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will reveal any unspent convictions. All staff have a responsibility and duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils. Staff must be aware of the systems within Leiths which support safeguarding and must act in accordance with the School’s Safeguarding & Child Protection policy and Code of Conduct. Staff will receive appropriate child protection training which is regularly updated.
