Responsibilities

  • To undertake general lifeguard duties to the standards defined in the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification – ensuring that the poolside is never left unattended for any reason whatsoever.
  • To be aware of general pool conditions (water clarity and odour) and report any issues to the Duty Manager.
  • To monitor the number of swimmers in the pool at any one time and advise the Duty Manager if limits are exceeded or additional lifeguards are required.
  • To comply with the PSOP (Pool Safety Operating Procedure) of the centre at all times.
  • To maintain your NPLQ by attending the required number and frequency of training sessions.
  • To provide outstanding customer care at all times, dealing with minor problems and reporting serious issues to the Duty Manager and providing assistance wherever possible.
  • To ensure the health and safety of customers at all times.
  • To understand and be fully conversant with the Centre Emergencies Procedure for the building as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
  • To check the safety of equipment and report any damage or malfunction of equipment, plant or building fabric to the Duty Manager immediately after discovery.
  • To assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment and minor repairs when required.
  • To ensure all cleaning duties are carried out as prescribed by the Duty Manager and maintain storage areas in a clean and tidy condition.
  • To ensure lost property is handled and recorded according to company procedures.
  • To assist in the opening and/or closing of the centre each day.
  • To complete other tasks as requested by the management team from time to time.
