Part‑time Role Available at Bourne Saturday 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Overview: Our centres are open 7 days per week. As a Leisure Attendant (lifeguard) you will play an important role in the smooth operation of the leisure centre, ensuring the safety of customers while supervising the swimming pool and its surroundings.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general lifeguard duties to the standards defined in the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, ensuring the poolside is never left unattended.
  • Be aware of general pool conditions, such as water clarity and odour, and report any issues to the Duty Manager.
  • Monitor the number of swimmers in the pool at any time and advise the Duty Manager when numbers exceed specified limits or additional lifeguards are required.
  • Comply with the PSOP (Pool Safety Operating Procedure) of the centre at all times.
  • Maintain your NPLQ by attending the required number and frequency of training sessions.
  • Provide outstanding customer care, dealing with minor problems and reporting serious issues to the Duty Manager while assisting customers wherever possible.
  • Ensure the health and safety of customers at all times.
  • Understand and be fully conversant with the Centre Emergencies Procedure as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
  • Check the safety of equipment and report any damage or malfunction of equipment, plant or building fabric to the Duty Manager immediately after discovery.
  • Assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment and minor repairs when required.
  • Ensure all cleaning duties are carried out as prescribed by the Duty Manager and maintain storage areas in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Ensure that lost property is handled and recorded in line with company procedures.
  • Assist in the opening and/or closing of the centre each day.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the management team from time to time.
