Overview

Multiple full time roles available at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre. The roles are for Leisure Attendants (lifeguards).

Compensation

Rate of pay will be dependent on National Minimum Wage age bracket.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of customers while supervising the swimming pool and its surrounds as a pool lifeguard.
  • Undertake routine checks, cleaning, and assist with the preparation of events/activities, including assembly and dismantling of equipment.
  • Interact with customers in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner; be the first point of contact for customer issues.
  • Perform general lifeguard duties to the standards defined in the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), ensuring the poolside is never left unattended.
  • Monitor pool conditions (water clarity, odor) and report any issues to the Duty Manager.
  • Monitor swimmer numbers and advise when limits are exceeded or additional lifeguards required.
  • Comply with the PSOP (Pool Safety Operating Procedure) of the centre at all times.
  • Maintain NPLQ by attending required training sessions.
  • Provide outstanding customer care, dealing with minor problems and reporting serious issues to the Duty Manager.
  • Ensure the health and safety of customers at all times.
  • Understand and be conversant with the Centre Emergency Procedure as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
  • Check the safety of equipment and report any damage or malfunction to the Duty Manager immediately.
  • Assist in preparation and operation of events and activities, including assembly, dismantling, and minor repairs when required.
  • Perform cleaning duties as prescribed by the Duty Manager and maintain storage areas in a clean, tidy condition.
  • Handle and record lost property in line with company procedures.
  • Assist in opening and/or closing of the centre each day.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the management team.
