The predicted salary is between 10 - 13 Β£ per hour.
Various shift patterns and hours available. Rate of pay will be dependent on National Minimum Wage age bracket. Casual and regular hours available. Our centres are open 7 days per week.
As a Leisure Attendant, you will have an important role to play in the smooth operation of the leisure centre. It will be your responsibility to ensure the safety of our customers whilst supervising the swimming pool and its surrounds as a pool lifeguard. You will also be expected to undertake a number of other tasks around the centre such as routine checks, cleaning and assisting with the preparation of events/activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment.
You will regularly interact with customers in a warm and welcoming way. You will often be the first team member that customers report issues to, and therefore you will have a great deal of responsibility for representing LeisureSK in a professional and efficient manner; remaining calm in difficult situations, being proactive in dealing with issues yourself where possible or reporting immediately to management if not.
- To undertake general lifeguard duties to the standards defined in the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification - ensuring that the poolside is supervised according to the PSOP.
- To be aware of general pool conditions i.e. water clarity and odour and report any issues to the Duty Manager.
- To monitor the number of swimmers in the pool at any one time and advise the Duty Manager if numbers exceed specified limits.
- To comply with the PSOP (Pool Safety Operating Procedure) of the centre at all times.
- To maintain your NPLQ by attending the required number and frequency of training sessions.
- To provide outstanding customer care at all times, dealing with minor problems and reporting serious issues to the Duty Manager.
- To ensure the health and safety of customers at all times.
- To understand and be fully conversant with the Centre Emergencies Procedure for the building as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
- To check the safety of equipment and report any damage or malfunction to the Duty Manager immediately after discovery.
- To assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment and minor repairs when required.
- To ensure all cleaning duties are carried out as prescribed by the Duty Manager and to maintain storage areas in a clean and tidy condition.
- To ensure that lost property is handled and recorded in line with company procedures.
- To assist in the opening and/or closing of the centre each day.
- To complete from time-to-time other tasks as requested by the management team.
