Role: Sous Chef - Arcus at The Imperial (New Opening Hotel)

Location: Bloomsbury, London

40 hours a week (5 days out of 7 days weekly rota)

About Us: This summer, we open the doors to our fully re-imagined hotel, The Imperial - a new lifestyle offering within our portfolio. With 357 bedrooms, multiple dining venues, a workout studio. Arcus is the new destination rooftop bar - this will be a new beacon, bang in the heart of Bloomsbury, London.

About the Role: We're seeking an experienced, creative and highly organised Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality. You'll help lead the kitchen team, maintain high standards and contribute to menu development.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Maintain consistent food standards and ensure HACCP compliance.
  • Support menu development, costing and seasonal dish planning.
  • Lead kitchen operations day to day, ensuring presentation, quality and service meet expectations.
  • Oversee stock quality checks and ensure hygiene standards are met throughout the kitchen.
  • Train, schedule and guide kitchen staff, maintaining discipline and team performance.
  • Log equipment issues and maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
  • Prepare and cook high quality dishes, including dietary and specialist menus.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in a professional kitchen with strong food safety knowledge.
  • Confident leader who performs well under pressure.
  • Excellent English communication (CEFR C1-C2) and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Bonus: menu costing experience, stock taking, culinary qualifications and large scale kitchen experience.
