About The Role
The Details:
- Title: Ultimate Survival Senior Instructor (Roaming)
- Reporting to: Ultimate Survival Camp Leader
- Contract: Seasonal work available during Summer holidays.
- Hours: 8am β 6pm weekdays.
- Additional Hours: 3 additional hours may be required on Thursday nights (6-9PM) for Campfire Cookout (site dependent). If this is required, you will be paid overtime.
Summary of Position:
The role of an Ultimate Survival Instructor is to use the provided resources to deliver quality, structured outdoor activities to groups of children aged 7 to 14. In addition to delivering Survival sessions, you have a pastoral role, ensuring the safety & wellbeing of children on camp. This is a roaming role, the Roaming Instructor is assigned a weekly schedule across multiple camps within their local area and should be able to react to schedule changes at short notice. Travel expenses are paid and, where long journeys are required, accommodation can be provided.

About You
Essential Requirements:
- Experience taking sole charge of a group of children, ideally within an education setting.
- Flexibility to tailor the delivery and structure of a session according to age and ability.
- Have a valid driving licence and use of your own car so you can travel to and from camps in your local area.
- Be enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about working with and developing children through guided play and activities.
- Good organisation and communication skills. Candidates must be confident in their ability to lead a group of children and not shy away from responsibility.
- Excellent communicator, with great face-to-face customer service skills. Candidates must be confident in their ability to interact with parents.
- A pro-active and conscientious.
Desirable Requirements:
- Previous experience within Outdoor Education, with a specific focus on bushcraft.
- Ideally qualified or studying towards NGB qualification in adventurous activities, such as archery, bushcraft and mountaineering.
- Ideally experienced in working in a similar camp setting, working with children aged between 7 and 14 years.
- Current Paediatric First Aid qualification (12 Hour Course).
