Creating Active Futures is seeking a highly motivated Active Communities Manager to drive our mission of creating happier and healthier lifestyles across our contract area. This is a critical, contract wide role focused on developing and delivering impactful community engagement and sports development programmes.

The Role as the Active Communities Manager, you will be instrumental in increasing participation in physical activity, tackling barriers to engagement, and forging strong, lasting partnerships within the local community.

  • Developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive strategy for community sports development and health initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with local groups, schools, health partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Securing funding and managing budgets for community projects and programmes.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of programmes to ensure they meet contract objectives and deliver positive social impact.
  • Leading, motivating, and supporting a team of community delivery staff and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will be a creative and results driven individual with:

  • A proven track record in sports development, leisure management, or community project delivery.
  • Experience in budget management, grant applications, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire a team and key partners.
  • Qualification to National Governing Body level 1 Safeguarding & Child Protection, First Aid.
  • Proven experience with leading on either key sport development or community programmes.
  • Experience of programme management, within budgets and leading on service level agreements.
  • An awareness of the roles of Sports Partnerships, National Governing Body initiatives, the voluntary sector and Local Authorities.
  • Good computer skills and understanding.
