The Role The Restaurant Supervisor owns a dining section end-to-end, leading service flow, taking both food and drink orders, and coordinating with bar and kitchen to deliver a polished premium experience to tight event timelines.
This is a casual, event-based position, ideal for individuals seeking flexible work around other commitments.
Shifts are offered in line with AO Arena's busy live event schedule, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- The Responsibilities
- Lead your section: welcome and seat as needed, take accurate food and beverage orders, manage coursing and timing to show schedules.
- Guest experience: provide recommendations, manage allergens and special requests, and resolve issues promptly with service recovery.
- Order and delivery: enter orders precisely into POS, confirm modifiers/allergens, expedite from pass, and ensure correct, timely delivery.
- Take beverage orders (wine service basics, cocktails, beers, no/low alcohol), liaising with bar for signatures and pairings.
- Standards and presentation: maintain table readiness, cleanliness, and brand standards; manage side work and station stock.
- Training and support: mentor junior servers and runners; lead by example on steps of service and salesmanship.
- Manage bills, split checks, handle payments, and ensure accuracy; record comps/voids as per policy.
What we're looking for
- Strong floor service experience in upscale, high-volume restaurants or premium venues.
- Confident with POS, menu knowledge, wine by-the-glass and cocktail basics.
- Allergen awareness and guest communication skills; meticulous order accuracy.
- Calm under pressure; excellent pacing and multitasking.
- Availability to work flexible, casual shifts, including evenings, weekends, and event days as required.
