Main - Catering Assistant - 88 Wood St, Barbican Lexington is an award-winning contract caterer that focus on providing great food and service to customers. To do this we need fabulous people and we work hard to create an environment where our team members feel engaged, inspired, valued and enjoy what they do. Barista/Food Service Assistant To ensure that the Coffee bar, counters and fridges are set up and maintain to the highest standards. To serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner. Operational Skills Necessary Operational Skills: Job Knowledge, Technical Knowledge, Expertise, Customer Service, Drinks Menu/Product Knowledge Duties: Ensure all counters, fridges and tables are set up prior to service / opening time Open and close the Coffee bar area appropriately and in-line with training ensuring that all stock is locked away at the end of shift Ensure constant replenishment of counters and fridge’s throughout service Ensure attractive presentation of food throughout service Ensure the seating area is clean and tidy at all times To provide a high standard of customer service, dealing with customers politely and professionally at all times To assist in the preparation and service of food and beverages to the customer To assist in maintaining levels of hygiene in the preparation and service areas To carry out dedicated cleaning of equipment and/or areas as per approved cleaning schedules To operate a till and be responsible for any financial transactions in their care in compliance with all Lexington procedures with regards to financial security To ensure correct storage and rotation of stock, when required To ensure at all times the wearing of the correct protective clothing and footwear To comply with all health, safety and hygiene regulations as lay down within the catering department and to complete all due diligence reports as required To report any equipment breakdowns or accidents to the Group Manager/Operations Manager/on site Client Facilities Manager To attend any training that is required To carry out all reasonable tasks expected by management Interpersonal Skills Necessary Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communicator; Verbal (Speech) and Non-Verbal (Listening), Flexibility, Personal Hygiene Team Worker, however able to work alone Duties: Welcome and connect with every customer Ensure the highest standard of customer care is used at all times Ensure all customers are served in a friendly and efficient manner Ensure all comments and complaints are passed on immediately to the Group Manager Ensure high standards of personal hygiene Ensure uniform is clean and tidy Ensure all accidents and faulty equipment is reported to the Group Manager/Operations Manager Ensure that all new ideas are communicated to the Group Manager Ensure full attendance to all training sessions, meetings and monthly reviews To work overtime provided reasonable notice is given To carry out any other duties as reasonably directed by the management team Personal Spec A passion for food and service. Positive attitude, polite and friendly. Team player and able to multitask. Presentable and always smiling. Flexible approach with the ability to work under pressure and understand the needs of the business. Confidence in communicating at all levels. Demonstrate an eye for detail and cleanliness.
