Designer Designer

Permanent role, full-time, 39 hours a week Hybrid working between home and office (Handforth) (office days Monday and Tuesday) Reporting: Senior Creative Designer

About the Role Our design team are the creative hub of the Pets business - tasked with creating exceptional design and creative work for our channels while maintaining a consistent visual identity for our brands including Pets, Pets at Home and Vets for Pets.

The role will be required to create various marketing materials like POS, social media and email, as well as online banners for our website and app.

You will need to be a self-starter who thrives on a fast-paced creative environment and have strong collaboration skills to work with internal teams, including marketing, social, online, vets, and product development, to understand their needs and create effective designs and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, on-brand design assets across digital and print
  • Develop visual concepts and creative campaign strategies
  • Take ownership of end-to-end content creation, from ideation to execution
  • Be happy to work with external agencies and studio to develop outstanding
  • Proactive mindset with positive attitude
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, ability to manage multiple projects and hit deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to push boundaries on creativity, whether through technology or production methods
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative, studio and online to ensure brand alignment and synergy, foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Experience, knowledge and expertise required

  • 3+ years of design experience (preferably agency)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design)
  • Figma (Desirable)
  • Monday. com and workflow tools
  • Ability to work into CMS and deliver website banners
  • A strong and varied portfolio showcasing design, concept and (preferably) copy work
  • Knowledge of brand development and maintaining brand consistency across digital platforms
  • Confident in presenting and pitching ideas and creative concepts
  • Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, art direction and colour theory.
  • Experience designing for a broad range of on and offline platforms
  • Bonus points for motion design/video editing experience
  • (Desirable) copywriting skills with a sharp eye for tone and detail
  • Familiarity with digital marketing trends and best practices.

We will also expect you to keep up to date with the latest design trends and technologies, including how we start to move into the world of generative AI.
