If you enjoy providing great service in a fast-paced work environment, we have just the opportunity for you at our Cambridge Bar Hill Vets for Pets practice. Our Cambridge Bar Hill practice is a dual practice alongside our practice in Beehive. Please note you may be required to cover our Beehive practice on occasion.
This is a weekend only role working 15 hours across Saturday and Sunday. Saturday hours are 9am - 5pm and Sundays are 10am - 4pm.
What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist:
- Previous Receptionist/Administration experience is essential, veterinary experience is desirable.
- You are the friendly and welcoming face for the client and their pets when they arrive at the practice.
- You should be resilient and able to work under pressure.
- An excellent communicator with strong empathy.
- Exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to bring enthusiasm and drive to your role.
- Your passion for service is matched with your love of pets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems.
- Confidence with clients when discussing finances.
- Your personality is infectious and along with your fellow colleagues, you create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the practice.
Day-to-day duties of the role will include:
- Answering phones and booking appointments.
- Responding to queries via phone, in person, email and via our online messaging service.
- Registering new clients.
- Completing insurance claim forms on behalf of our clients.
- Dispensing medications.
- Taking payments.
- Supporting the clinical team with referrals, insurance claims, finance applications and preparing paperwork.
- Providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice.
What your typical day will look like:
Your focus is to provide an exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets - providing a link between them and the clinical team. Your ability to build strong relationships with our clients, their pets and the practice team will be critical to your success. You will greet each client and offer support, guidance, and expertise, managing payments and future bookings confidently. Coordinating the smooth running of the day-to-day routines of the practice will be done using our online booking system, so computer literacy and strong administrative skills is a must.
