Sticks'n'Sushi serves high-quality, fresh food based on a unique combination of classic and creative sushi along with sticks from the grill, bringing a blend of Danish design, Japanese dining and generous hospitality. Amazing service in beautiful restaurants is driven by our amazing team - our Strange Fish. Fish are like us - we all swim together. Strange Fish are the gentle rebels: calm, curious, thoughtful. You will have walked a similar path before, but your spirit is ready for a Head Chef role where you can bring your energy and vision, with a spark of dare!

Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 per annum inclusive of tronc (every penny of the service charge is shared between the team in the restaurant). Working hours: 48 hours a week with paid overtime.

We're looking for you: a true craftsperson, passionate about creating things in the best way. You'll have Head Chef experience in a busy kitchen with a strong knowledge of crafting exceptional sushi, with a calm spirit that tunes in and focuses, rising above that buzz.

  • Someone who works with hands, head and heart in harmony.
  • A precision-focused individual, even under fast-paced pressure.
  • Positive and fun to be around, in the heat (or cool) of the busy kitchen.
  • Able to adapt and move with change, without letting standards drop.
  • The type who stands shoulder to shoulder with their fellow Chefs, with a big smile and a small ego.
  • Culturally curious and hungry to learn more about our Danish 'n' Japanese roots.

What you'll be doing at Sticks 'n' Sushi:

  • Taking responsibility for all aspects of the operation in the kitchen from prep and food quality through to cleanliness, compliance and cost control.
  • Ensuring we create top-class sushi and the very best kushiyaki sticks.
  • Putting your passion and pride into ensuring a delicious plate and experience for every guest, every time.
  • Being part of a family that will help you flourish and become the best you can be.
  • Nurturing, coaching and developing other members of the kitchen team.

What you'll bring to us:

  • Head Chef experience in a busy kitchen.
  • Excellent knife and sushi-making skills.
  • Fluency in English, the language of our kitchen.
  • An eye for detail; always upholding the highest standards.
  • A love of deepening your craft, with respect for rituals and traditions but a curiosity to bring your own spark and ideas.
  • Team spirit, kindness & respect.
  • Thinking 'we' rather than 'I'.
  • A desire to have fun as you work with your fellow chefs; togetherness is the word.
  • A genuine commitment to making people happy, ensuring you have one of the happiest teams in the industry.

How we will support your journey with us:

We want you to grow with us, so through our Lead 'n' Learn academy, you can keep learning and developing your skills. Our training is structured to help you shine and create memories, in your role and beyond.
